Significances of Swastik symbol, which is made before starting anything auspicious, a holy symbol for Hindus, Jains, Buddhists and Europe. Some of the most ancient Swastikas where found in ancient India and it adopted across sub-continent over centuries.

Swastika (स्वस्तिक) = Su (सु) + Asti (अस्ति) + Ka(क)

Su(सु) means Shubh(शुभ) i.e auspicious or welfare

Swasti in the above means the one who takes care of our wellbeing and when we add a ‘K’ to Swasti - ‘Swastik’, becomes a symbol that signifies wellbeing, goodness.

The symbol of Swastik is considered as a swaroop of Ganesha as it is the first thing that we make before starting anything good and new. Brahman is explained as the combination of static and dynamic forces, which is also called as Shiva and Sakthi, Prakasha & Vimarsha, Purush and Prakriti.

Brahman is the formless absolute Consciousness who is the root cause of everything. Hinduism has 18 Vidhya Sthanams: 4 vedas, [Rik Yujur, Sama, Atharvana] 6 Angas, [niruktam, chandas, shiksha, vyakaranam, kalpam, jyotisham] 4 Upa angas [Mimamsa, nyaya, purana& itihasa, dharma shastram] and 4 upa vedas [ Gandarva, Ayur Veda, Dhanur Veda & Arta Shastram].

When Brahman takes form, It do works through 3 Gunas or characters called Satva, Rajo and Tamo Gunas. By the combination of these 3 Gunas with 5 fold matter Prithvi (earth), Agni (fire), Jal (water), Vyau (air) and Akaash (ether/space) contribute the entire creation. Swastika also represents five fold matter with its axis fixed on Akaash (ether/space). The reference to this symbol can be found in Vedas and Upanishads.

Swasti means Be Auspicious or Be Welfare, good fortune, represents the Sun or Surya, the source of all life on earth, the direct representer of Brahman, represents Kala or the flow of time, the cyclical motion of time to be exactly representing constructive progress and the cyclic representation of the chaturyugas (Satya, Treta, Dvapara, Kali) and thereby time, also interpreted as representing the four Seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter), the four directions (North, East, South and West) believed that it attracts all the good and positive vibrations from across the four directions.

They can be interpreted as the four Vedas with central axis represents Brahman itself from which Vedas originates (Rig, Yajur, Sama, Atharva), the core Hindu scriptures, the Vedic path and Counterclockwise Swastika represents the Tantric path either of which should be chosen by a person for righteous living and Four Paths of Yoga (Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga and Raja Yoga).

Swastika also represents Life, the flow of life, the cyclical flow of life, represents the dynamic motion or vibration of matter. It represents Spanda or Vibration which is nothing but Aum mantra. And Representative of Purusharths or Goals of life; Kama (fulfilment of desires), Artha (wealth), Dharmma (righteousness) , Moksha (liberation from cycle of life) rotating on the central axis, Life (right action, worldly prosperity, worldly enjoyment, and spiritual liberation).

Swastika also represents 4 stages of life a man should follow. Brahmacharya (celibacy/education period), Grihastashrama(family/married life), Vaanaprastha ( retiring from responsibilities) and Sanyaas (becoming a hermit) rotating on the axis Life. Four Social classes (Priests, Warriors, Merchants and Workers).

Swastik represents solid matter, material prosperity, and security. According to Akhand Sutra, the symbol of Earth (Prithvi-Bhuta) and Swastik is Muladhara Chakra, the lowest center of consciousness in the pelvis. Swastik represents Kundalini sleeping in Muladhara Chakra. Kundalini sleeps in Muladhara Chakra. As a result, it represents the Static Form of Earth. Swastika also means for eternal.

Swastik represents the involution of consciousness. When Kundalini rises to higher centers of consciousness called Chakras, the static form of four corners of Muladhara Chakra becomes dynamic. The awakened Kundalini is represented by 22/21, the one-third of 22/7. The sleeping Kundalini is represented by Pi or 22/7 (Three plus coils of Kundalini). This process is called revolution and leads to spiritual evolution through ten stages of evolution. The ten stages of revolution and evolution (maturation) follow Divyank, the Divine Constant. Where Divyank:

 ((22/21) square power of 10.34419) = 1.618034.

 22/21: It represents Dynamic Swastik.

10: It represents the ten stages of the revolution of innate human consciousness.

0.34419: It represents the last stage of maturation or evolution.

The swastika drawn as a Yantra represents the auspicious orientation of Prana Shakti/energy. Prana the basic life force has spin and interacts with the human body via the Ida and Pingala Nadis, which is the reason why Pranayama focuses on controlling the flow of Prana, through proper breathing. So Swastika represents prana which is the root cause of life itself.

It also represents the four characteristics of the soul: infinite knowledge, infinite perception, infinite happiness, and infinite energy. It also represents the four columns of the Jain sangha: sadhus, sadhvis, sravakas and shravikas - monks, nuns and female and male laymen. It represents the perpetual nature of the universe in the material world, where a creature is destined to one of those states based on their karma.

In contrast to this circle of rebirth and delusion is the concept of a straight path, constituted by correct faith, understanding and conduct, and visually symbolized by the three dots above the running cross of swastika, which leads the individual out of the transient imperfect world to a permanent perfect state of enlightenment and perfection. This perfect state of liberation is symbolized by the crescent and dot at the top of the swastika.

Right Swastika is a symbol of Nar & Left Swastika is a symbol of Nari. The horizontal lines of Swastika is a symbol of Creation of Universe or Jyotirlinga & verticallines is a symbol of Expansion of Universe. The center point of Swastika is believed to be Nabhi Kamal (नाभि कमल) i.e Navel Lotus of Vishnu from where the Universe is originated.

Swastika is believed to be a symbol of Shri Vishnu (as a Sudarshana Chakra of Vishnu)
Surya (In Rigvedic Richa), Creation Cycle, Entire Brahmanda (Universe); The bijakshara and swarup of mantra of Ganpati appears like Swastika symbol.

Swastika is primarily associated with four colours. Red, gold, green and Black/Deep Blue. In fact Swastika represents everything. Scientifically, it is believed that if the symbol is made correctly it helps in attracting an immense amount of positive energy. It protects one from all sorts of evil eye.

The right-facing symbol (clockwise) (卐) is called swastika, symbolizing surya ("sun"), prosperity and good luck, while the left-facing symbol (counter-clockwise) (卍) is called sauwastika, symbolising night or tantric aspects of Kali.

Red clockwise Swastika represents the flow of Prana which represents flourishing of life. Red is also the colour of pure Satva Guna or absolute purity. So this Swastika represents the Maya or Adi Parasakthi , the mother of the universe. This symbol shows nourishment and motherly protection from all odds

Black/Deep Blue coloured Clockwise Swastika is used to represent Defensive Power. It directly represents the protective power of God. In other words it represents Dakshin Kalika the fierce form of mother Goddess or the auspicious Kali. It also shows Vedic aspect of defensive power otherwise called the protection derived from Adharva-Veda and Tantra.

Always remember to keep the lines and angles in a Swastik clean and clear without any designs for better benefits or else it also can land you into troubles. The use of Swastika at impure places should be avoided. It is advised that whenever you wear a Swastik pendant it should always be inside a circle.

"Omm-Swastik-Trishul" consists of three mythological words ‘Om’, ‘Swastik’, and ‘Trishul’. The combination of all these three symbols not only protects you from negativity and evil but also purifies the whole environment of living so that you could live a happy and peaceful life full of financial abundance. This auspicious symbol should always be worshipped so that the blessing would keep coming to us.
